Project Techniques manages PMR network roll out.

Project Techniques Ltd (PTL) has recently commenced work on the "roll-out" of a state of the art Private Mobile Radio (PMR) network for a major UK Utilities company.

Working in conjunction with the manufacturer, PTL's responsibilities include the project management of installation and commissioning for new equipment as well as de-commissioning of obsolete equipment from over 120 sites. In addition PTL will manage the installation of mobile units to a fleet of approximately 2000 vehicles.

The new PMR system uses the latest generation of radio technology and will provide a voice service and data capability for GPRS applications as well as a fixed telemetry system.

Project Techniques Managing Director Mike Riley commented, "We are very proud to be appointed to manage this project as it is part of the UK's largest single communications contract to have been awarded in the Utilities sector, and builds upon our existing relationship with the manufacturer"

Completion is scheduled for early 2008.
